User safety is our foremost priority. The lift has been designed to keep homeowners and other people in the home safe. It is primarily designed for people who struggle on stairs or who need to transport heavy or bulky items within the home safely.
The RESiLIFT® is an operator controlled residential elevator for private use and comes equipped with many safety features.
KEY RESiLIFT® SAFETY FEATURES
Doorless design
RESiLIFT®’s doorless design ensures you cannot be trapped inside and can evacuate in the event of a power outage. The reduced footprint ensures that the lift can fit retrospectively into almost any home.
The simple design and engineering enhance reliability and safety when used according to the Owner’s Manual.
It’s important to check that the lift has fully reached the landing before entering or exiting to minimise any potential trips or stumbles.
The doorless design also increases accessibility and ease of use for people with limited mobility especially when using a walking aid of any kind. Note that if you are using a walker or wheelchair, you should enter the RESiLIFT® in the right direction to ensure you can visually confirm that the lift has fully arrived at the landing before exiting.
Safey Barrier
Where the lower ceiling height is greater than 2.0 metres, a safety barrier will be installed to limit the opportunity to fall from an unacceptable height. This permanent guard across the entry of the lift, covers from the lower ceiling down to 2 metres above the floor level.

Continuous pressure operating buttons
Found on the lift control panel and on the remotes, the continuous pressure operating buttons allows you to control lift movement.
The lift will stop at any time during operation by releasing the travel button and resume travel by pressing the travel button when it is safe to do so.
Isolating Key
The key must be switched to ON to enable the lift. The key is removable allowing you to control when the RESiLIFT® can or cannot be used.
Entry Sensors
There are light beams across the entrance to ensure that it is safe for the lift to travel. If something is in the way of the light beams, the lift will not move.
Lighting Inside of Lift
Overhead LED lights automatically illuminate the lift on entering, during operation and briefly after exiting the lift, ensuring the lift is well lit and allowing you to see clearly while using the lift and getting in and out of the lift.
Safety Lid
When the lift is on the lower level, the safety lid covers the opening in the upper-level floor to prevent any object falling through.
Pressure sensitive sensors
When moving downwards, the safety pan detects if lift travel is obstructed from below. The pressure sensitive switches stop the lift from travelling further down until the obstruction is removed.
Likewise, if there is too much weight on the safety lid, the pressure sensitive sensors will stop the lift travelling upwards until the weight has been removed.
Travel Proximity Sensor (Upper and Lower)
Proximity sensors and induction plates positioned to ensure the lift does not travel past the desired stopping point.
Troubleshooting indicator
If the lift is not operating as expected a troubleshooting flashing light on the control panel will come on to help diagnose the cause. It usually occurs when a safety feature has been triggered and can easily be resolved by the operator.
Gripping Device
The gripping device is a secondary braking system that prevents the lift from falling should the primary form of suspension fail. If required, this device engages automatically.
Lift Safety During Power Outage
In the event of a power outage during operation of the lift, the lift will stop and hold its position. The battery backup will keep the light inside the lift to remain lit. The lift can be lowered by the operator using a manual evacuation device with care. Once down, the lift will not travel up until power is restored. Anyone who would be reliant on the lift to evacuate the home in an emergency, should ensure the lift on the upper level whenever they are on the upper level.
Grabrails
RESiLIFT® recommends grabrails for increased stability of anyone in the lift.
Fold-down Seats
Fold-down seats can be retrofitted - please check availability with your distributors.
WHO SHOULD USE A RESiLIFT®
A RESiLIFT® is designed to be operated by a competent adult trained in accordance with the Owner’s Manual. Guests should be accompanied in the lift or shown how to use it correctly. If you sell your home, please contact the local distributor so they can arrange for purchasers to learn how to safely operate the RESiLIFT®. If you move into a house which already has a RESiLIFT®, please contact the local distributor to check that is well maintained and all safety features are working.
We do not recommend that children use a RESiLIFT® without adult supervision. The lift should be turned to OFF and the key removed when unsupervised children or pets are present.
RESiLIFT® is not suitable for individuals to use on their own, if they are prone to fainting or if they are visually or intellectually impaired.
