The History of The Residential Lift Company One could hardly imagine that the prototype RESiLIFT® would birth an Australia-wide company leading the way in simplicity, cost effectiveness, easy installation and maintenance. Nor could one imagine that the heritage of each of the players contributed to the design and inspiration of the project. Rosemary Murphy born 1936 came from a long line of Engineers beginning with her grandfather, Joseph Francies, who became a Professor of Engineering in India and her father, Frank Murphy, obtained a degree of Science Engineering at the University of London. Peter van Emmerik, Rosemary’s husband, has a Diploma of Mechanical Engineering, Hobart. Peter was to become the designer of the lift. Their son, Andy, has a Degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Peter’s family moved from Holland to Java and his grandparents formed the White Cross Colony to address the problem of the aftermath of a volcano in mid Java. At its heyday the White Cross Colony housed over 1,000 people and provided shelter, food and work on the coffee plantation ,dairy, weaving and an orphanage. The 2nd World War resulted in the family being sent to concentration camp and the Colony falling into disrepair. Peter’s Father,…
Installing a RESiLIFT® is half the price of a traditional commercial-style lift in your home. It requires less building modifications and ongoing maintenance than with any other lift.
Safe and easy to use
RESiLIFT® operates with continuous pressure. The operator is in control of the journey for the whole way. By not having a door, RESiLIFT® maximises accessibility and there is no risk of being trapped in your lift. The sensors, grabrail and safety barrier reduces the risk of falling out. Read full safety features below.
Manufactured in Australia
RESiLIFT® was designed by an Australian for Australians. We use locally sourced parts to manufacture. This means you have local technical support if needed.
The key components of RESiLIFT® are made from quality products. The hoist is German Engineered and made in Australia by SEW Eurodrive. The extrusions are from Ullrich and all other components are manufactured in Tasmania.
The footprint for a Mirage is incredibly less than one square metre. It is the most compact residential lift on the market taking less space than a shower. We are also able customise the Miracle to fit in very small spaces.
Add value to your home
Installing a RESiLIFT® will add value, convenience and safety to your home. Should you ever decide to sell, these factors is likely to attract more potential buyers and buyers with greater spending capacity.
Here's a short video of Peter's recent visit to Melbourne for a showroom launch party. You can see how smooth the lift operates and the seamless design that can blend into any home environment.
OTHER FEATURES YOU SHOULD KNOW....
LOW MAINTENANCE FEES
We pride ourselves on the reliability of our product. Provided the annual service is conducted, it is reasonable to expect that there would not be any other maintenance charges during the year.
The doorless feature is the main reason why maintenance is minimal. Remember 90% of the reason why services are required by lift companies is that people are trapped because of door malfunction.
Because we are truly local, there won't be any waiting around for parts to come from another country, plus the expertise and knowledge are local. All these features reinforce why RESiLIFT® is the smartest purchase to make.
The RESiLIFT® has been designed to use minimal energy. It simply plugs into a standard 10 amp powerpoint and uses less power than a toaster!
This not only keeps running costs to a bare minimum, but installation costs don't require expensive electrical upgrading, saving on costly electrician fees.
SHORT LEAD TIME
The reason we have a short lead time is our lifts are truly local. All the parts are local and easily accessible which minimises wait time. Our service comes with local support and expertise. This is one of the many benefits to an Australian manufactured product. As the lifts are manufactured locally you don't have to wait for it to arrive on a boat from China!
The quick turnaround is also evident in any ongoing services that may be required.
The fast lead time is typically 4-6 weeks but in emergencies can be as short as one week from time of request. [In some circumstances where there has been a medical emergency we have been able to install in less than a week.]
The Miracle and Miracle Max are available in single and dual entries/exits. This provides the customer with an option installing the lift in different locations, and simply walking through (or rolling through if in a wheelchair) the lift in the one direction.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
Installing this lift has made such a difference, no more piles of washing waiting to be taken downstairs or carried upstairs. It has made our house complete and it has taken no time for us to “just go by lift”. Carrying laundry upstairs was one step at a time, now the basket is in the […]
The complete installation was affordable as we are a retired couple. The installation of this lift was compact and has made our life comfortable and now we’re able to stay in our own Townhouse. We were very pleased with the staff including the excellent after sales service.
Resilift.. wonderful. I never thought it would be so fantastic. We had it installed from the garage,(where my husband spends a lot of time!) up into the laundry in the first floor living area. I used to dread going up and down the stairs. Now with the lift it is just like going into another […]
We are just one couple, of doubtless many hundreds who have benefited from your Father’s expertise and drive to develop ResiLifts. That it is an Aussie company from Tasmania adds hugely to my admiration. Therefore, I would like you to pass on to him, my personal gratitude for his original endeavour, our satisfaction with the lift, […]
We would like to thank you for the excellent work and service you provided to us when we were in a tight spot and needed an installation very quickly, due to Phil’s fall. You bent over backwards to get the lift intact, prior to his return from hospital. We have had nothing but satisfaction with […]
It has been a pleasure dealing with you & your company. We are very grateful for the prompt attention & wonderful service – The lift makes our life very comfortable living in our home.
“Outstanding and excellent! From my first communication all the way through to post-instalment, I have been highly impressed. I am delighted to share my satisfaction and gratitude. Thank you RESiLIFT so much!”
I broke my leg just before Christmas. Having the RESiLIFT was a God-send! On the other hand, my girlfriend broke her ankle very badly and had to have an ankle fusion. Their home has very steep stairs and no bathroom downstairs. Without a lift, it was a nightmare. Lyn N, New Gisborne, VIC
